Elaine Kelly

KELLY (STEELE), ELAINE ARDEN - 1941 - 2013 - Elaine Kelly passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on December 26, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Jessie (Colwell) and Rupert Warnock. She is survived by daughter Kim Champagne (Craig Ellis) of Riverview, NB and son Dr. Brent Steele (Liiz) of Port Hope, Ontario; granddaughters Kristie and Kyla Champagne and step-granddaughter Katie Roy; her siblings Harris Warnock (Carol) of Priddis, AB, Brian Warnock (Wanda) of Prescott, AZ, Anne Marie Atkinson (Blaine) of Prince William, NB; special cousin Carol Craig of Saint John; her aunt Vera Swazey of Fredericton and her family; several nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick Kelly in 2001. Elaine was a graduate of Saint John High School (class of ’57) and The Registered Medical Laboratory Technologist program at the former Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Saint John. She worked in hospitals in Saint John, Moncton, and Halifax but spent the bulk of her career employed by Environment Canada and Agriculture Canada. In recent years she was an avid member of the Red Hat Society - Riverview Divas – and cherished the many friendships she had made. She enjoyed travelling and had many wonderful experiences with family and friends. She truly loved her family and friends, had a warm and caring heart, and a wonderful sense of humour. The family wishes to express thanks for the excellent medical care provided by her doctors and staff at the Moncton Hospital. Special appreciation is sent to Dr. Fitch and his office, and to the nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit (3600).
Per Elaine’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service; a private Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. If family and friends so desire, donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated. www.rossfuneralchapel.com
