It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel 'Timmie' Pearo of Whycocomagh.
Samuel passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born at home in Kewstoke, June 5, 1958, he was the son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Nock) Pearo.
He was a member of Stewart United Church and Stewartdale Cemetery Committee, Whycocomagh.
Samuel was a dedicated carpenter who, along with his brother John Robert, owned Pearo Brothers Woodworking Ltd. He was known for his sense of humour and his love of dancing. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Samuel is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 34 years, Linda (MacLeod); his beloved children, Daniel (Donna), Fort McMurray, Alta., and Tricia (Paul), Williamswood, N.S. He is also survived by sisters, Shirley (Frankie) Chandler, Patsy (Donald) Mac Donald, Diane Rouse, Wilma (Ross) Matheson, Margie Ellis, Melody (Kenny) Ferguson; brothers, John Robert (Krista) and Sheldon (Lisa). Also left to mourn are brothers-in-law, Karron (Faye) MacLeod, Keith MacLeod, Chester MacLeod and David (Heather) Mac Leod; and many special nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his sister, Elaine Campbell, mother and father in-law, Charlie and Dena MacLeod, brothers in-law, Gary Ellis and Gordon Rouse and sisters in-law, Sharon Pearo and Catherine MacLeod.
Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11a.m. in Stewart United Church, Whycocomagh, with Rev. Donna Tourneur officiating. Burial in Stewartdale Cemetery.
Family flowers only please. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, or the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Program, Inverness.
