MELANSON, GUY - Guy J. Melanson, 81, of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 at the Moncton City Hospital. Born on November 2nd, 1932 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late François and Regina (LeBlanc) Melanson. He loved gardening, spending time at the wharf and with his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 61 years, Bella (Cormier) of Cap-Pelé; six children: Paulette Fougère (Edouard), Paul (Judy), Lucie Brine (George), Jeannette LeBlanc (Léonard), Léa Saulnier (Terry) and Roland (Denise) all of Cap-Pelé; two sisters: Yolande Beaudoin and Therese Pessotti both of Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and sisters: Adrien, Jeanne, Hermance, Berthe, Irène and Laure. The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of the Moncton City Hospital and to the extra-mural nurses of Shediac for the excellent care Guy received.
As per his request, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse d’Avila R.C. Church in Cap-Pelé on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. In memory of Guy, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital (oncology department) would be appreciated.
