Peter David Murphy
Passed on: January 3rd, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful Father - Peter David Murphy. As Dad's health declined over the last two years he fought the good fight, yet fought with dignity and without a single complaint. He passed, in his own home, as peacefully, quietly and gently as he lived his life. Dad was predeceased by Mom, Jean (Hickey) in 1986, His parents , Patrick and Catherine (Whittle) as well as his Grandson Corey King in 2002. Also predeceased by his Brothers Brian, Patrick and William and sister Joan. Predeceased as well, in February 2013 by his unbelievably loyal & trusted companion Tippy. Along with being a Veteran of WW11, Dad was a lifelong employee of the United Nail & Foundry, an Honorary member on the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Medicine at MUN , was one of the founding Fathers of the Medical Centre on Shea Heights, as well as many years of volunteering during the Urban Renewal Project. As Dads 7 children, we will miss him greatly - Rev. Brother David, Mary (John Denine) Noel (Patricia), Peter (Rowena), Brenda (Tony Ryan), Paula (Keith Soper), Regina (Darrel Cole). 10 Grandchildren - Lisa King, Dr. Lana Soper (Dr. Krista Noonan), Robert Knee, Melissa Murphy (Richard), Paul Murphy (Robyn), Andrea Soper (John), Sarah Jane Knee (Raymond), Justin Cole (Sarah), Zac Murphy (Tosh), Johanna Cole.
