We regret to announce the sudden passing of Wesley Urquhart MacInnis, 65, on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014, at home.
Born in Breton Cove, Nov. 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Angus and Katherine (Urquhart) MacInnis.
Wesley was a lobster fisher and employed with Nova Scotia Department of Transportation for most of his working life.
Wesley was a dedicated member and assistant deputy chief of the Ross Ferry Volunteer Fire Department. He found joy in Cape Breton fiddle music and his antique vehicles. He was a loyal, loving and kind person who served his family, friends and community. He had a heart for others, and will be forever in our hearts.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie (Patterson); daughter, Glenda MacAskill (Alan), Boularderie East; sons, Ashley (Sandy), Edwardsville, Allan, at home; brother, Ian (Annie) Baddeck; grandsons, Nicholas and Dawson; nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Visitation for Wesley MacInnis will be held in the J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Drummond Memorial United Church, 10330 Kempt Head Rd., Ross Ferry, with Rev. Diane Kempt officiating.
