Gordon Wilbert Green of Moose Jaw left his Earthly home in his 90th year and is now in Paradise with his Saviour and reunited with his wife Bernice and family. Dad was born in Moose Jaw on 11 February 1924 to Alan and Norma Green. He had one brother Russell. Gordon married Bernice Robertson in 1949. They were married 53 years until Mom’s death in 2002. Dad’s descendants are his son Bill (Paula); his grandchildren Jesse, Tova, and Attalee, (Charmaine, Chris and Tyler); and great-grandchildren Jaida and Caleb. Dad was past Master of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and in two bowling leagues where he won the provincial over 55 5-pin title at the age of 88. Gordon served overseas with the Royal Canadian Navy Fleet Air Arm during the Second World War. He returned to Canada in 1946 and married Bernice, a Navy WREN. He worked on commercial freighters in Vancouver before returning with his family to help with the family farm at Pasqua. He worked at Husky Oil Refinery and was a Steam Engineer at CFB MJ until his retirement. Dad loved the outdoors and was an avid camper, hunter and fisherman. He could turn his hand to any automotive, wood or metal project. He excelled as a gardener. He attended St.Michael and All Angels, St.Aidan’s, and the last two years, the Church of God. Dad lived independently in his own home and took great pleasure in driving the prairies. But his greatest pleasure was spent in activities with his family. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday, 11 January, 2014 at 1:30 pm. Pastor Larry Hasmatali will officiate. Royal Canadian Legion Rites will be conducted by Chuck MacMillan. Donations to the Legion Poppy Fund are gratefully appreciated. In living memory of Gordon, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
