Maurice Hamel passed away peacefully in Kamloops on January 1, 2014, 82 years.

Maurice was born in Marcelin, Saskatchewan on February 15, 1931. The youngest of ten children, three brothers and six sisters.

Maurice moved to Kamloops in 1954 where he worked for Royallite Oil then to Gulf Oil refinery until he retired in the late 1980's.

Maurice married Frances (nee Metcalfe) in 1959.

Maurice was a 37 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous of which he was very proud. He was a member of O.L.P.H., Knights of Columbus.

Survived by son Jim Metcalfe (Fran) of Kamloops, grandchild Shannon.
