It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son and brother.

John was born and raised on the family farm in Saskatchewan where he first discovered his passion for drums and anything with an engine. The family moved to Kamloops, B.C. when John was 13 and Westsyde quickly became his stomping ground. John loved new challenges and had many different careers in his short time here. He worked for Greyhound for many years, and then discovered his calling for sales with Surfwood Supply. Never one to stay in the same place for long, he turned his attention to mining in the Yukon and felt an instant connection in the land of the midnight sun. No matter what new career or city John turned his attention to, his passion for music was the one constant in his life. He played for countless bands over the years as a drummer and never went anywhere without his sticks. His vibrant personality, boundless energy and genuine love of people attracted so many friends and he was just the person you always wanted to be around.

John is predeceased by his father Alan and leaves to mourn his mother Jane, siblings Jay and Alison, and countless relatives and friends whose lives he touched deeply.

There will be a private family service held for John with a memorial to be set at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
