GALLAGHER, Evelyn Dorcas – age 82, passed away January 7, 2014 at her home in Sankey Manor, Yarmouth, N.S. Born May 26, 1931 in Salem, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter to the late Elijah and Annie (Atkinson) Hurlburt. Evelyn was a member of the Evangel Assembly Church in Yarmouth for many years. She spent her career working at Maritime Tel & Tel. She is survived by her sons, Patrick, Owen Sound, ON; Michael (Sandra) Owen Sound, ON; brothers, Oscar Hurlburt, Wellington, Yarmouth Co; sisters, Alice Blakely , Yarmouth; Mildred Porter, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Suzanne, Michelle; great grandchildren, Emma, Zack. She was predeceased by husband, Harold; sisters, Ethel, Bessie, and Florence; and brother, Arthur. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium in Yarmouth. Visitation was held Friday, January 10, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service was held Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Evangel Assembly, Myrtle Street, Yarmouth, Pastor Oral Stewart officiated. Interment followed in Chebogue Cemetery.
