It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Lynn Coldwell, of Birchdale Drive, Sydney River at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Jessie (Edwards) Carson.
Carol was employed as a registered nurse at the MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney, for over 25 years until her retirement in 2009.
She is survived by her husband, John; son, David (Lynn), Halifax; daughter, Jennifer (Tim) McNutt, Lower Sackville; sister, Linda Carson, Toronto; grandchildren, Matthew, Joey, Jill, Hailey, Rebecca, Carolyn and Johnathan. Carol will be dearly missed by her many good friends and also her co-workers at the MacGillivray Guest Home.
Carol was an avid reader, loved to travel, tend to her garden and play bridge with friends. She dedicated her life to her family and welcomed every hug from her grandchildren. Carol was a kind, caring and loving wife and mother, who enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to have met her.
A celebration of life will be held for Carol at a later date.
At this time, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the Victoria Order of Nurses, Palliative Care and the Cancer Care Units for their kindness and care during her illness.
