Sandra passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 leaving behind her husband, of 21 years, Robert; sons, Mark (Becky) Arseneau, and Bruce (Susan) Arseneau and son-in-law Ed Cooke, all of Amherst; daughters, Lori Anne (Jack) Nicolle and Karen (Paul) Shea all of Fredericton; grandchildren, Kiley, Kiersten, Nathaniel, Joshua, Gabriel, Leslie (Jason), David (Jennifer), Graham (Danielle), Amy (Mark), Michael (Tara) and Claire-Ellen (Dylan) and her great grandchildren, Dylan, Avery, Beckett, Chase, Breanne, Greysen, Anastasia, Lillian and Sophia. As well, she will be sadly missed by her sister Anne Shipp of Welland, ON and two brothers, James DesBarres of Shubenacadie and Charles DesBarres of Barronsfield.
Besides her parents, Sandra was predeceased by her daughter and best friend Heather Arseneau, as well as a sister, Florence Landry.

Our mom was very passionate about her family, her church, Girl Guides, and her work. She particularly looked forward to her time spent at the cottage with her children and grandchildren and her annual trip with her daughter and sisters.

Sandra was a member of the original committee to begin deliberations to bring the two Amherst parishes together. She remained devoted to the committee until the task was finished and was very pleased to see the fruition of the job.

Sandra taught Sunday School and participated in the Little Rock Scripture Series. She was a member of the Stewardship Committee and a 40 year CWL member where she held the office of president several times. She was also honored by Girl Guides of Canada with an honorary life membership and was a member for over 31 years as a Guider and a trainer of other Guiders.

Sandra's working career was spent at Tantramar Chevrolet over a period of 48 years. She enjoyed her working career and those she worked with.

She had a wide support group who prayed for and helped her through the hard parts of her illness. She is forever grateful to those people and they know who they are. Her family have also provided the support she needed for which she is ever grateful. A special thank you is extended to her sister, Anne for her unfailing compassion, love, and support.

Arrangements for Sandra are under the care and guidance of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church Street, Amherst (667-8777) from where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, January 17, 2014.
