RICHARD, LÉONA - 1922 - 2014 - Léona Richard, 91, of the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche and formerly of Sainte-Marie de Kent, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 19th, 2014 at the Manoir. She was married to the late Louis Richard (2003). Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Onézime and the late Mélina (Duplessis) Cormier. She will be sadly missed by her six children; Ginette Cormier (Creighton) of Antigonish, Yvette Desprès (Réginald) of Saint-Antoine, Jean-Paul (Jeannine), Jean-Guy (Lauraine), Charles (Monique), all of Sainte-Marie de Kent, Euclide (Roberte) of Notre-Dame, her seventeen grandchildren, her twenty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She also leaves to mourn two sisters; Rosanna Daigle of Bouctouche and Annette Dugas of Fitchburg, two brothers; Paul (Lydia) and Ronald, both of Bouctouche and several nieces and nephews. Léona was predeceased by a daughter, Girène, one son, Bernie, two sisters; Victorine and Dorca and three brothers; Alonzo, Aurèl and Emerie.
Visitations will be held in the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, in Sainte-Marie de Kent, on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 from 2 to 4 and from 5:30 to 6:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held in the Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel Church on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 at 7:00pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring. In Léona memory donations may be made to the Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste or to the Alzheimer Society.
