Mr. Orville S. Alm age 87 of Moose Jaw, formerly of the Viceroy Area, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2014. Orville had a love of farming with his family but after a few career moves he settled in Moose Jaw working with CP Rail. He met his wife Lylah at the Temple Gardens Dance Hall and they married in 1953. He and Lylah were members of the Central Lutheran Church and he was an active member of the Stamp and Coin Clubs in Moose Jaw. He also spent time volunteering at the Food Bank after he retired in 1984 from working at SIAST for 24 years. Orville is predeceased by his parents Louis and Caroline Alm; wife Lylah; five brothers; three sisters as well as brothers and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his step-daughter Janet Mykytiw; grandson Chad (Renee) Coles and their children Ainsley and Andon; granddaughter Tanis (Derek) Hicks and their children Avery and Brodie; sisters Isabelle Kirby and Lorna Warden as well as many other relatives in Canada and Norway. The Funeral Service will be held at W. J. Jones & Son Chapel, 106 Athabasca St. E., on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at 1:30PM. Rev. Doug Shepherd will officiate. Interment will take place at the Una Cemetery near Viceroy, SK in the spring. Memorial donations may be directed to Central Lutheran Church, 27 Hochelaga St. W., Moose Jaw, SK S6H 2E9.
