In loving memory of Michalina (Lena) (Lee) Ostapovitch (nee Gorchynski) June 14, 1920-January 19, 2014. Lee was the last surviving child of Michael and Clementine Gorchynski of Jedburgh, SK. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Michael, in 2004.

Lee was the proud mother of June and her husband Orest Aponiuk of Leduc, AB, and "Baba" to grandchildren Diana Aponiuk of Edmonton, AB and Larisa Aponiuk and her husband Wayne Lidkea of Lively, ON. Lee was also loved by her great-grandchildren Natasha Leanna and Viktor Michael Lidkea.

Lee was also predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Minnie (Mike) Karapita, Rose (Carl) Stanko, Rudolph (Doris), Edward (Lily) and Frank. Step brothers and sister: Joseph (Nellie) Urbanoski, Laudie (Katie) Urbanoski and Olga (Steve) Pacholko. She is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Gorchynski and a host of nieces and nephews.

Lee was a proud and determined woman who lived her life to the fullest. Lee and Michael loved to travel, golf and dance. They were very involved in the community of their long-time home, Prince Albert, SK, with both being active members of the Lions Club, their Church and volunteers for many other organizations.

Lee and Michael loved being with their small but devoted family. They spent many happy summers at Waskesiu Lake, and exploring the Rockies. Lee was always immaculate, and enjoyed the beautiful things in life. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Byers and the staff of Extendicare Leduc for their loving and compassionate care of Lee and her family. A private family funeral service was held, with Rev.Fr. B. Ambrosie as celebrant. Donations in memory of Lee, in lieu of flowers, can be given to the Canadian Mental Health Association or the Extendicare Leduc Resident’s Fund.
