Jean Rogers

ROGERS, JEAN - Jean Adara (nee Wilson) Rogers, 86, of Little River, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2014 at home with family by her side. Jean was born in Wright’s Mills, NB and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Florence (nee Plant) Wilson. She was married to her beloved husband Gerald Rogers in 1949 at which time they moved out west for a life in the Armed Forces. After Gerald retired, they moved back to the homestead in Little River where Jean was raised. Jean and her husband started a hobby farm together and raised beef cattle for many years. Working with her pets brought Jean a lot of joy. She loved to be outside working and always kept herself busy with the maintenance of her property. Even though she said she’d rather chase cows and work in her garden than be in the house, her family always looked forward to her delicious family meals and treats. She took great pride in maintaining the Wilson Cemetery in Little River as her father did before her. Her hard work and dedication will be sadly missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly. Jean is survived by her daughter, Joanne Stephen (Darryl Keirstead) of Colpitts Settlement; her sons: Jim Rogers of Moncton and Pat Rogers (Anne-Marie) of Salisbury; her grandchildren: Bob Livingstone (Joy), Samantha Rogers and Emily Rogers; as well as several extended family members and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Jean was predeceased by her grandson Billy Livingstone and her brothers, Noble and Raymond Wilson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, (506)756-3361. Donations to the Wilson Church and Cemetery Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences are available at www.armstrongsfh.com.
