Passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2014 in her 102nd year. She lived life to the fullest following her recipe for a long life - eating root vegetables, her faith and her family. She was born in Stone's Cove, Fortune Bay (July 2, 1912), and married Captain Carl Barbour when she was 40. She was blessed with twins Leslie (Cathy), Mary Lou (Robert) Knechtel, and Marilyn (Jamie) MacDonald. She leaves grandchildren - Andrea (Peter), Stephen, and Kevin Barbour - Rebecca (Cody) and Nathan (Monica) Knechtel. Mom waited 101 years to meet her great granddaughter Sarah Knechtel in December 2013. She also leaves nephews Lester Barbour and Carl (Marie) Wright, Claude Bond (Lorraine) and Peter Dawe. Let's now celebrate her circle of life and good fortune.
