STELLARTON – It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our dear mother Emma Margaret (Anderson) Rector, 76 of Stellarton on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, on August 13, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Mervin and Alice (Frazee) Anderson.
Emma will be greatly missed by her husband Fred, two sons, Scott (Mari), Ontario; Darren, PEI; three daughters: Rebecca (Kevin) Bruce, Victoria Moser (Bill Carrigan), MacPherson Mills; Ella Forbes (Jonathan MacKay), Stellarton; two step-children, Jason (Kim) Rector, PEI; Juanita Bezanson (Shawn), Stellarton. Emma’s greatest joy in her life was her four grandchildren: Jennifer (John) Hayman, Jennifer Beaton, Matthew Bruce and Frank Beaton, Stellarton; and her three great-grandchildren: Shaymus, Mya and Jax Hayman, two brothers Melvin (Linda), Plymouth; Roy (Paula), PEI; two sisters, June Jones and Dena George, both of New Glasgow.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband Donald Forbes, a son Mervin, a great-grandson Leland Hayman, a brother John and a sister Susan.
Her remains will rest in the H.C. MacQuarrie Funeral Chapel from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Keith Hazzard presiding. Burial will take place in the Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Emma may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Aberdeen Hospital ICU or to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
