77, of Herring Cove, passed away January 22, 2014 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, he was a son of the late Walter and Janice (Wallace) Rowsell. At a very early age, George became a plumber and eventually owned and operated his own plumbing business, Murphy and Warton Plumbing which later became Mr. Plumber. After his retirement, he took great pride in gardening and loved to vacation in Florida. George had a great sense of humor and loved telling jokes. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Oxford); daughter, Janet (Gordon) Heaney; grandchildren, Chad, Amanda (Keith Saulnier); great-granddaughter Peyton as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son, Allan as well as his brother and sisters. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax.
