Bud, beloved husband of Theresa Browns (nee Friedel) of Calgary, AB and formerly of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away on January 10, 2014 at the age of 79 years.
Bud was the 4th of 6 children born to Boyd Clarence and Gladys May Browns in Grande Prairie, AB. At a young age Bud’s family relocated to Pine Valley, BC. He finished his schooling at Notre Dame School in Dawson Creek, BC. He began his career in car sales shortly thereafter. Bud and Theresa were married on April 4, 1964 and were blessed with three children, Sonia, Jim and Karen.
Among Bud’s many achievements was his successful career selling GM vehicles for more than 40 years, including his own dealership for 6 of those years. Bud was also a school board trustee for 17 years and an Honorary Member 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. In 1999 Bud and Theresa retired to Calgary to be closer to family. Bud’s greatest joy was spending time with his 4 grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Bud is survived by his wife, Theresa; his children, Sonia Brooks and Neil Beaubier, Jim Browns and Jezalyn Gulaja, Karen (Darren) Kisser; his grandchildren, Megan and Jayna Brooks, Amy and Noah Kisser; his sisters, Evelyn Wyant and Dorothy Engelbrecht; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 17, 2014. Interment of Bud’s cremated remains to take place in Dawson Creek, BC at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
