Winston Arthur Slade of Westmount passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 27, 2014.
Born in Newfoundland, on April 10, 1940, Winston was a pipefitter with Local 682.
Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Mary (Kennedy) Slade; two sons, Winston Jr., Andrew (Danelle), both of Toronto; three grandchildren which he adored, Madalynn, Emily and Victoria; brother Herman Slade, Sydney; sister Fay Brake, Newfoundland; and brother-in-law Michael (Sharon) Kennedy, Westmount.
He was predeceased by parents, Edgar and Ada Slade, also sister Joan Wheeler.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. At the families request there will be no funeral service, a private family burial will take place at a later date in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
