It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories, that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, Poppy, brother, and friend, Clifford Felix Hall, age 92, on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014. Cliff passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Northside General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born in Sydney Mines in 1921, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (McConville) Hall.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife, of 62 years, Mary (McIntyre) Hall; sons, Brian (Nancy), Ottawa, Wayne (Gail), Lloyd (Sheila), Gary (Gail), all of Bras d’Or, Glen (Yvonne), Leitches Creek, Eddy (Donna), Sydney Mines; daughters, Judy Hall, Sydney Mines and Lynn (Sheldon) Marinelli, Georges River; his grandchildren, Shawn, Shera, Lloyd, Callista, Jennifer, Michael, Mitchell, Jeffery, Kyle, Brent, Ryan, Josh, Marissa, Beth, Mary Ann, and Connor and his great-grandchildren, Grace, Lucas, Kailee, Leeland, Greta, Mallory, Jaxon and Sadie; his sister, Marguerite Walsh; he is also survived by his McIntyre in-laws, many nieces and nephews, Gordon (Mucker) McMahon, whom he thought of as a son, and special friends and neighbours, Peter and Denise Northen.

After serving in the Second World War, Cliff returned home and married the love of his life. He was employed with the N.S. Department of Transportation as a heavy duty mechanic until his retirement in 1985.
He will always be remembered for his Sunday dinners of his famous spaghetti and meatballs. Each Sunday was filled with family and laughter, with Cliff sitting in the middle soaking it all in. His family was his pride and joy, and he made sure everyone knew how loved they were. All that entered into his home instantly became family and left with a full belly. He had a special love of interacting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always amazed with their cleverness. He enjoyed a good joke, and could keep the attention of the room with his many stories. He had a sharp memory, and he never forgot his many unique secret handshakes with the children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Francis Funeral Home in Sydney Mines. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish (the former St. Pius X Church) on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Fr.
