PETERSON, M. RAY - Unexpectedly at her residence on Thursday, January 30th, 2014; Margaret Raymonde "Ray" (Hetherington) Peterson, wife of Dick Peterson of 47 years of St. Andrews, NB. Born in Gatehouse of Fleet, Scotland she is the daughter of the late Melville & Margaret Hetherington of Quebec. Ray grew up in Quyon Quebec. She attended Carleton University and received her Masters in Biology and later in her life went on to achieve her law degree from UNB. She lived in St. Andrews most of her life and was actively involved with the Fundy Community Foundation serving as their Director. She also served as a Director of Sunbury Shores and served a term as a former Mayor for the Town of St. Andrews. .Her favorite past time was quilting and making quilts for her children and grandchildren gave her such pleasure. Surviving in addition to her husband Dick are her children David of St.
Andrews, NB, Heather Dalling (Greg) of Baxters Corner, Saint John, NB. John (Christiane) of Fredericton, NB, 2 sisters Jo Webb and Shelagh Paulson, both of Ontario, three grandchildren Ty Dalling, Lena Peterson, Brooke Dalling, several nieces and nephews.
By request of the family there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be missed by all who knew her.
