It is with great sadness that the families of the late Allan George Mitchell announce his passing at his home in Deer Lake, NL, on Sunday February 2nd, 2014, at the age of 75 years. Predeceased by his father; Allan Mitchell, mother; Caroline nee Decker, step-father; Peter Mitchell, brother; Herbert Mitchell, sisters; Hilda Grigsby and Flossie Taylor, and step-sister; Blanche Regular. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife; Bertha nee Taylor, children; Irene Payne (Floyd), Violet Jacobson (Dave), Sylvie Sooley (Darrin), Edmond Mitchell (Deanna), Lucy House (Eric), Willie Mitchell (Shelia), & Sharon Mitchell (Drew), Siblings; Shelia Simms (Alphonse), Melvie Bussey (Harold), Yvonne Bussey (Valance), Chesley (Ella), Reginald (Jessie), Mackenzie (Marion), Bernice Regular (Pleman Randell), Judy Bussey (Albert), Pearce (Maxine), Rex (Gloria),& Norman Taylor, step siblings; Woodrow (Lillian), & Ralph (Violet), 17 grandchildren, & 6 great grandchildren, also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, today Tuesday, February 4th, 2014 from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm, as for Allan's wishes cremation to take place. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, February 6th, 2014, at 2:pm at The Salvation Army Citadel in Woodstock, NL. With Capt: Randell officiating. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
