Ronald "Ron" Booker

BOOKER, RONALD "RON" MANFORD - Ronald "Ron" M. Booker, cherished husband of Wilda Adams passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 10, 2014. Ron was born on November 3, 1935 at Fredericton, NB. Dad will be forever loved and remembered by his three sons, John (Colleen), Stephen (Dana Nason), Larry and his beloved grandson, Zachary. Also surviving are step-granddaughters, Hilary and Robyn; Wilda's son, Trevor Adams (Michelle Moxon) and their children, Amanda, Logan, Rachel, Kolby and Hudson. Ron also leaves behind his brother, Hilly Booker (Joyce) and sisters, Betty Holland (Doug) and Carol Langford; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Lois (Bartlett) Booker; his parents, Manford and Margaret Booker; sister, Lois Booker and brother-in-law, Hugh Langford. Ron was an active member of Brunswick Street Baptist Church where he served on various boards and committees and acted as an usher for over 54 years. He also enjoyed the fellowship of the Fredericton Golden Club. After graduating from Fredericton Business College, Ron spent most of his working life in sales. For several years he worked as a car salesman and later business office employee at Lawson Motors in Fredericton. Ron retired from Sears in 1999 following 27 years of exemplary service as salesman in their major appliance department. Ron enjoyed trailering, travelling, playing guitar and woodworking. Bookcases, china cabinets, end tables, curio shelves and various other items will remain treasured keepsakes of his family. He also kept educated on all new cars and trailers and was frequently consulted by others for his expertise. Ron was a kind-hearted, mild mannered true gentleman who touched many lives. He will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank the exceptional ICU staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for the tender, loving care provided to Ron, and to the family, over these past seven months. John, Stephen and Larry would like to extend special love and gratitude to Wilda for being by Dad's bedside, tending to his every need, throughout his entire health struggle.
Visitation will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Friday, February 14th, 2014 from 4 to 9 pm. A memorial service will be held from Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15th, 2014 at 11 am with Rev. Greg Geldart officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Bible Society, Brunswick Street Baptist Church Building Fund or charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
