The death occurred peacefully with family by his side at Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, of Arthur R. Profitt, formerly of Kensington and Margate, aged 93 years. Born in Burlington on August 12, 1919, son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Millman) Profitt. Husband of Elva (Pickering) Profitt, Clinton. Father of Roland Profitt (Sandra Howard), Margate. Grandfather of Randall (Emily) Profitt, Vaughan, Ontario and Sherry (Matthew) MacLeod, Westville, N.S. Great-grandfather to Victoria and Christina Profitt, Christian and Connor MacLeod. Brother of Gladys Stavert, Summerside. Brother-in-law of Leah Weeks, Kensington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter-in-law Ruth (Johnson) Profitt, brothers William John, Oliver, Halsey, Herbert, Ernest and Walter and James Andrew in infancy, sisters Ruby Bernard and Kathleen Bowes. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Monday from 1-3 p.m. Brethren of Mount Zion Lodge #12, Kensington, will hold a Masonic memorial service in the funeral home chapel immediately following the visitation, with funeral service following. Interment in the Margate Cemetery. If so desired contributions may be made to Mount Zion Lodge #12 Building Fund or the Margate Cemetery Fund.
