OTTMANN-GORDON, MARTHA - It is with great sadness that the children of Martha Ottmann-Gordon announce their Mom's passing on February 16, 2014 at her home in Saint John with her family at her side. Martha was born in Bremen, Germany on April 18, 1935 to the late Otto and Charlotte Ottmann. Martha was a loving and devoted Mom, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed. She was the wife of the late Morton Gordon. Martha is survived by her children: Jan Olthafer (Heather), Kirsten Huber (Mike), Sven Olthafer, and Lars Olthafer (Kim); her stepsons: Mitchell Gordon (Patty) and Daniel Gordon; her grandchildren: Evan, Kyli and Kiefer, and her step-grandchildren: Amanda and Stephen. Martha is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Alvin and Maureen Gordon of California, nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong best friends Ingrid Waldau of Germany and Jeannette Rathjens of Saint John.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service; however, a celebration of Martha's life will be hosted by her children on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 4 to 6 p.m. at their mother's home at 19 White House Court in Saint John. In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Saint John or to Hospice Saint John. The children of Martha would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to their Mom's neighbors and friends at White House Estates and especially to Betty and Judy who have been Mom's angels on earth.
