Felix Polster

Felix Polster, aged 79, peacefully went to his rest on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Dad immigrated to Canada in 1954 and shortly after met and married Mary Anaka. After a few years of farming, he moved on to construction work. He would always proudly point out the many buildings he worked on and share a story about each one. Prior to his retirement he worked with Cypress Paving. Dad loved to socialize and you would often find him playing cards, shuffleboard or pool, dancing, or visiting with friends and family. He loved watching sports of all sorts and we all knew when his favorite team was not doing well. He enjoyed gardening and many shared in the bounties of his harvest; particularly enjoying his ‘cinnamon apple pie’ with apples from his garden. Dad also loved to cook and barbeque, and there was never a shortage of those appreciating an invite to taste his special steak and dill potatoes. Felix is predeceased by his parents and three siblings and his wife Mary. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Rose (Jerry) Hawkins of Calgary, AB, and Cathy (Sig) Moberly of Regina, SK; his very special granddaughters and their families: Danielle (Darrell) Dyck and Delaney and Devyn-Lee of Swift Current, SK, and Erinn (Derrick Deschamps) Hawkins and Ethan and Chloe of Still Water Lake, NS; and his dearest friends Angela Moberly and Darlene Paulhus. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Steve (Lois) Anaka of Marquis, SK, Linda Anaka of Moose Jaw, SK, and Peter Timoshuk of Fishing Lake, SK; several nieces and nephews, many friends; and his little buddy ‘Rhubee’. Special thanks to Dr. Geyer, Dr. Majid and staff of the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and to Dr. Kakumanu and staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Centre for all of their support and care. A Memorial Service to honor Felix’s life will be held on March 15, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel. Those so wishing may make a donation in Felix’s memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T1.
