It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Theresa LeBlanc at the Northside Community Guest Home on Tuesday Feb. 18, 2014 with her family at her side.
Born in Florence, June 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Annie Mae and Edward King.
Mom was always at home with her children as they were growing up and always ready with a different school lunch for each one of us. She loved her children dearly and always took pride in all her family’s accomplishments.
Mom was a devout member of St. Stephen’s parish and, when she was well, was an active member of the CWL.
Theresa is survived by her daughters, Linda Buffett, Sydney Mines, Sandra (Larry) Clarke, North Sydney, Susan (Bill) McNicoll, Cancun, Mexico, Denise (Billy) Mulley, Baddeck, and Paula (Tom) McDonald, Hinton, Alta.; and her brother, Joseph (Dodie) King. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Leanne Donovan, Amanda McCracken, Jason Mulley, Natasha Riggs, Larry Riggs and her great-grandchildren, Danielle, Jenna and Emily Donovan, Jeffrey and Allie McCracken and Faydra Hanna.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1989 and by a son in childbirth. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Clifford, David and Edward and her sisters, Margaret and Marie.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Parish, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Thomas John officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery at a later date. A reception will be held in St. Stephen’s hall in Florence, following the mass.
A special thank you to the staff of the Northside Community Guest Home for the wonderful care and compassion Mom was provided.
Donations in Theresa’s memory may be made to the Northside Community Guest Home or to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Francis Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
