Peacefully, at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge, Eldon, the passing of Margaret Janet Smith (nee MacLeod), age 95, of New Perth, wife of the late Newton Smith, occurred on Friday, February 21, 2014.
Born in Cardross July 24, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Murdoch and Sarah (MacDonald) MacLeod. Margaret is survived by a sister-in-law Kay MacLeod; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Sterling, Alexander, Norman, Ernest, and sister Tina Russell.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home, from where the service will be held on Monday, February 24, 2014, at 3 p.m., from the funeral home chapel. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 1 p.m. to service time. Interment to take place in the Community Park Cemetery in the spring.
