John Jacob Rodgers of St. John's, formerly Heart's Content, NL, passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in the presence of his loving family on February 21, 2014 at age 71. Predeceased by parents, Jonas and Naomi; brothers: Gordon, Earl and Clyde; baby sister, Elizabeth. Leaving to mourn the love of his life of 47 years, Marjorie Grace (Yarn); son Christopher (Desiree) and daughter Latonna. Very proud Poppy to four beautiful grandchildren: Ava Grace, Jesse, Brady and Deija Grace; along with his special Sis Eleanor (Fred) Pynn; sisters-in-law: Ruth BonEske and Eileen (John) Crichton; brother-in-law Lloyd (Evelyn) Yarn. Special thank you to niece Joan and husband Carl Rickert for their love and support. At John's request cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, February 24 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm, and Tuesday, February 25 from 10 am-12 noon. Funeral Service will follow at the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 2 pm. Inurnment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
