MACKINNON. 1933 - 2014. Mrs. Gladys Mary MacKinnon of New Ross, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the age of 80 years. She was born on October 20, 1933 at New Ross, Nova Scotia. Gladys loved music. She shared her beautiful voice singing Country Songs with family and friends. She played numerous instruments, her favorite was her guitar. As well, Gladys was a true follower of the Royal Family and adored Queen Elizabeth II. She was deeply moved at the passing of Princess Diana. She spent hours doing jigsaw puzzles with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching her soap opera, The Young and The Restless. She loved her tea and eating Nova Scotia scallops. Gladys is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bernard Peter MacKinnon of Halifax, Nova Scotia; her sons, Wayne (Cindy) of Falmouth, Nova Scotia, Rocco and Jeffrey of Red Deer; daughters, Linda (Mark) of Red Deer, Theresa (Corey) of Fort St. John, British Columbia, Joanne (Roland) of Hantsport, Nova Scotia and Loretta (Sheldon) of Edmonton, Alberta, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, New Ross, Nova Scotia in the spring of 2014.
