Myrtle Heron

It is with sadness the family of Myrtle Lauretta Heron announces her passing on February 25, 2014. Myrtle was born December 5, 1924 in Milton, ON and came to Moose Jaw, SK with her parents Roy and Norah Wales in 1929. Except for the two and a half years she worked in Ottawa, ON, she lived in Moose Jaw, SK. Myrtle married Ervin Heron (son of Lena and Herbert Heron) in 1946. She was a long time member of Olive Branch Rebekah Lodge #4 - Moose Jaw. She held numerous offices including two terms as Noble Grand. She is a Past President of The Rebekah Assembly of Saskatchewan and a member of the Past Presidents Association of Saskatchewan and the Past Noble Grands of Moose Jaw. Myrtle and Ervin travelled together to many far away places. This was a great source of enjoyment for both of them and the basis for many of the fond memories they shared. Myrtle is predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Ervin, and her sisters Violet, Verna and Reta. She is survived by her 3 children, Ronald (Gail), Gaye (Ken), and Shelley (Allan); grandchildren Shannon, Ryan, Stacey (Ryan), Allison, Melissa and Chad; great-grandchildren Isabella, Elizabeth, Alexander and Gabrielle. Myrtle is also remembered by special nieces Pat, Donaleen, and Carole, and nephews Barry and John Roy. There will be a family graveside service at a later date. She will be buried next to her husband at Sunset Cemetery.

Beyond the sunset when day is done.
Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gather
No storms will threaten, no fear annoy.
O day of gladness, O day unending.
Beyond the sunset eternal joy.
