Lillian Florence "Lill" Boudreau

Boudreau, Lillian Florence “Lill”
Our beloved “Aunt Dear” passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Elk Court Lodge in Brookfield, where she had resided for the past four-and-one-half years. She was 85.
Born in Windsor, Ontario on March 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Marjorie (Wallin) Green of Halifax.
Possessed with a lively and adventurous spirit, she was married in 1948 to the late Patrick Lubin “Pat” Boudreau of New Waterford. Together, Pat and Lill travelled extensively in Europe when he was stationed there as a firefighter with the Dept. of Nat’l Defence. Following later postings to B.C., Alberta, Quebec and New Brunswick, where she cultivated many friends and lasting memories, Lill settled in Lower Sackville, near her only sister, after the death of her husband in 1972..
Lill was very close to her sister Doreen (Dave) Seward, and to Doreen’s five children, who came to refer to her affectionately as “Aunt Dear”.
We knew her as a stylish dresser, a fantastic dancer, superb cook, and skilled dressmaker. She loved animals, flowers, Big Band music, and a good joke. Lill was generous and hospitable, and supported various charities, especially the Salvation Army.
She is survived by nieces Gayle and Joanne, nephews Jeff and Jamie, several grand-nephews and nieces, and her special friend and niece-by-marriage, Cathy Seward.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Pat, her sister Doreen, brother-in-law Dave Seward, and nephew David Seward.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and care-givers at Elk Lodge (Shannex) in Brookfield, who enjoyed Lill’s humour and quick wit, and who treated her with obvious affection and respect these past few years.
Visitation will take place in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Drive, on Tuesday, March 4 from 7-9pm, with funeral service on site at 10am on Wednesday, March 5, Rev. James Haughn presiding. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only.
Following interment, a reception will take place in the Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
