CAMERON, Gladwin Wilbert, 88, of East Green Harbour, passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Born in Osborne Harbour on September 25, 1925, he was a son of the late George and Alice (Lloyd) Cameron. Gladwin was a gentle, loving man who was loved by all who knew him. He was a longstanding member of Harbour Light Pentecostal Church. In his younger years he liked to go hunting and in more recent years spent many hours reading, especially his Bible. His working years were spent at National Sea Products until he retired. Gladwin is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sylvia; daughter, Rebecca Hersey (Ernie), Prince George, BC; and son Paul Strople of Halifax. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Holly, Mike and Noelle, all of BC; 5 great grandchildren and 3 honorary grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Nema Cameron and son, Lamont Cameron; his parents and 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 4 from 2-4 in Harbour Light Pentecostal Church where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rod Bezanson officiating. Interment in Lockeport Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Harbour Light Pentecostal Church.
