ROACH, GERARD “GERRY” - (Retired MWO- Canadian Forces after 31 years of service) - Gerard “Gerry” Roach passed away at Belleville General Hospital on Monday, February 24th, 2014 in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Barbara Roach nee Pond. Beloved father of Michael (Kathleen), Joy Troke (David), Christopher and Stephen (Denise). Sadly missed by his grandchildren; Andrew (Lisa), Cristin, Sean, Michael, Justin, Christopher, Aaron, Meaghan, David, Elizabeth and his great grandchildren; Evan, Marissa and Annika. Gerry is survived by his brothers and sisters; Guy (Diane), Leo (Joy), Bernyce Potter (John), Patricia Skinner (the late Phil), Toy (Terri) and Doreen Johnston (John) and their families. He is predeceased by his parents Alfred and Alphreda, his sister Suzanne Lemieux (the late Gilles) and his brother Roger (surviving wife Lyse). Gerry will be remembered by his family and community as a Past President of Trenton Lion’s Club, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br # 110 and as a man who enjoyed traveling with his wife, children and grandchildren taking them on numerous trips that included camping and cruising all over the world. When at home, he enjoyed the company of a good book and being an active outdoorsman.
Visitation took place at the Weaver Family Funeral Home - East Chapel, 29 Bay St., Trenton on Thursday, February 27th, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Friday, February 29, 2014 at 11 AM. Cremation to take place and interment will be held at a later day at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
