The death occurred peacefully, at her home, on Monday, March 10, 2014, surrounded by the love of her family, of Rita McQuaid (nee Bradley) of Tracadie Cross.
Adored wife of the late Melvin McQuaid. Cherished mother of Marian (Ben Hogan), Francis (Cindy), Austin (Gerry deceased), Alan (Gaylene), Blair (Janet), Paul (Madeleine), Brian, Donna (Bobby) Chandler, and David (Carol). Proud Nanny Rita of 30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sister of Fr. Austin Bradley and Lawrence (Anne) Bradley.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Estelle Bradley; brothers and sisters, Mary (Andrew) Gallant, Thomas (Katherine) Bradley, Peter Bradley, Sr. Margaret Marie Bradley RSB; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth (Jimmy) Hughes, Joe (Doris) McQuaid, Mary (Arthur) Wylie, Lucy (Wilfred) Hynes, Ethel (Eddie) Power, Bernard (Ethel) McQuaid and Elizabeth (Ted) Tierney.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Saturday, March 15, then transferred to St. Bonaventure Church, Tracadie Cross, for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will take place later in St. Bonaventure Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rita to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, the Children’s Wish Foundation or St. Bonaventure Parish would be appreciated.
