It is with deep sadness the family announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Reynelda MacNeil at the QEII Hospital in Halifax on March 11, 2014.
Born in Sydney on Dec. 14th, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sadie Mae MacNeil.
Formerly of Intercolonial St., Reynelda was a long-time resident of New Dawn where she made many close friends over the years, especially Russell & Laurie. She loved her day trips, spending time with her friends at Cairdeil Place and in her younger years enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Grand Narrows.
She is survived by her sisters Marguerite (Joe) Ryan, Shenacadie and Marie MacKinnon, USA; sisters- in- law Mildred and Jean MacNeil and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Hector, Donnie and Clinton MacNeil; brother-in-law Steven MacKinnon and nieces Lorna Siegler, Paula Marie MacNeil and two siblings in infancy Joseph & Annie MacNeil.
Visitation will take place Thursday 7-9 p.m. at TW Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Bill Burke officiating, Friday at 10 a.m., with internment in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cairdeil Place, Sydney or New Dawn Guest Home.
