Taylor, John Henry, 81, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 13, 2014 in the Mira Long Term Care Facility, Truro. Born in Salmon River, Col. Co., he was a son of the late Harry and Emily (McNutt) Taylor. John worked in construction all of his life.
He is survived by his daughter Janet Lee Melanson (Eldon) of Truro; grandchildren, Tammy (James), Charles (Lisa), Michelle; great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Michael, Dylan, Toni; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife the former Kathleen Elizabeth Mingo; brothers, David, Courtney, Herman, Lloyd; sisters, Violet, Margaret, Jean.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street from where visitation will take place on Saturday from 1 pm until funeral service time at 2 pm. Rev. George Luke will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in the Main Road cemetery, Debert, NS. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.
