FOWLER, CÉCILE - Cécile Fowler, 69, Moncton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Moncton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on October 30, 1944 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late René and Jeanette (Cormier) Léger. Cécile was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devout catholic and a member of St. Bernard’s parish for many years. In her earlier years, she loved to bake and sing, and to be surrounded by children. She will be fondly remembered for her kind and loving heart. She was always there and willing to help in any way she could and was seen as a mother figure by many family, friends and neighbours alike. She also spent many years working with the Canadian Mental Health Association, helping to guide those suffering with agoraphobia and panic/anxiety disorders. Cécile will be sadly missed but forever remembered by her husband of 47 years, Jim Fowler; her son, Stephen (Dawn) of Boundary Creek; her granddaughter, Jessica; her sisters: Florence Herman (Dale) of Iroquois Falls, ON, Louise Arsenault (Reg) of Dieppe and Muriel Haché (Paul) of Moncton; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Cécile was predeceased by her brother, Ron of Trois-Rivières, QC.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 10 am until time of departure (11:50). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 12 noon. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
