God called home a very special little angel; Ceilidh Grace passed away quietly and unexpectedly at her residence on Saturday, March 15th, 2014.
Born in Sydney on January 7th, 2009 she was the daughter of Melanie McLean and David Edwards.
Ceilidh was a very happy and pleasant child, known to her loving family as their “Little Chicken Pie”. She always had a huge glowing smile on her face and when she smiled her big eyes smiled as well. She enjoyed going to Passchendaele Pre School, where she made many friends with both staff and children. Ceilidh loved her little sister Zoe and her step-sister Taylor who was also her best friend. She enjoyed going to the park to feed the ducks, she also enjoyed coloring, singing and dancing. Her favourite place was at Nanny McLean’s house being cuddled by Nanny as they both rocked in the rocking chair and hummed songs.
Ceilidh will be sadly missed by her loving parents, mom Melanie McLean (Lawrence Vaters); father David Edwards (Angela Maria Gallant); sisters Zoe, Layla, Taylor; brothers Joshua and Brandon. She will also be missed by her loving grandparents Thomas and Faye McLean, Russell and Florence Nearing, David Edwards Sr.(Tootsie McLean), Basil and Bernadette Vaters; great-grandparents Nanny Joan Edwards, Genevieve McLean, Lila Poirier, Molly Moffatt, Tootsie Vaters; aunts and uncles Lacey, Ryan, Erica, Ashley, David, Samantha and numerous cousins.
Besides her great-grandfathers, Ceilidh was also predeceased by a sister Angel Edwards.
Visitation for Ceilidh will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday March 19, 2014 in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.
A funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Thursday, at Immaculate Conception Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating.
Interment will be at a later date in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Glace Bay.
Memorial donations in Ceilidh’s memory may be made to the IWK Hospital or a charity of choice.
