William “Bill” D. Stevens

LOON LAKE – William David “Bill” Stevens, Loon Lake, Hopewell, passed away, March 14, 2014.
Bill was born in Yarmouth, on April 25, 1944, and was the son of May Stevens, Hantsport, and the late David Stevens.
His greatest dream came true, when he was able to move to his cottage at Loon Lake, at the age of 52. Here, he and his wife, Jean, were able to live life to the fullest, making many friends, and living the dream. His greatest passion was the outdoors, hunting, fishing, ATVing and snowmobiling. At the time of his death, he was employed with Tru North Communications in New Glasgow. For 30 years previous, he had been employed with Trebly Food Brokerage and Amca Food Brokerage.
Surviving are his loving wife, of 37 years, Jean; daughter, Suzanne Walker, New Minas; sisters, Jean (Mike) Bevan, Beaver Bank, Sylvia Best (David Muise), Beth (Chuck) Rogers, both of Hantsport; brother-in-law, Garth Dunbar, Hants Border; many nieces and nephews; godson, Leigh Whetmore.
He was predeceased by his brother, Geoff; sister, Sandy Dunbar.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Donations to Church of the Good Shepherd, 28 Trinity Lane, Beaver Bank NS B46 1C1 designated to Handicap Accessibility Fund; your local volunteer fire department; or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
