TRENTON – John Henry Farrell, age 73, of Trenton passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in Cardigan, PEI, he was a son of the late Vincent and Janet (Shephard) Farrell.
He was retired from Trenton Works. He was a diehard Green Bay Packers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Los Angeles Dodgers fan. He was an inductee of the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife the former Mae Anderson; sons: John (Cheryl), Charlottetown; Randy (Elaine), Trenton; grandchildren: Keefe, Nathan, Erin and two step-grandsons, Ryan and Kyle Osmond; sisters: Anne (Philip) MacDonald, Kitchener; Margaret Wood; Mary Pentz, both of Toronto; brother, Edward (Florence), Riverview, NB; brother-in-law, Ross Cameron, New Brunswick; brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a grandson Jacob; sisters: Catherine, Lucy, Nora (Doug) Marshall; sister-in-law Elizabeth (Pollard) Farrell and nieces and nephews.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral mass 11 a.m. Friday from Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery at a later date.
