GAUDET, ALBÉNIE - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albénie Gaudet, 92, formerly of Dieppe, on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC in Moncton. The past two years, he resided at the Villa Providence in Shédiac where he was so well taken care of by the staff. Born on January 1, 1922 in Dieppe, he was the son of the late Camille and Albina (Gallant) Gaudet. He served in the Second World War with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry. He was a parishioner of Ste-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus in Dieppe where he often went to pray for his family. He is survived by his precious wife of 65 years, Jeanne (LeBlanc); five daughters: Carmel Richard of Moncton, Jeanne LeBlanc (Bernard) of Dieppe, Yvette Mainville, Lisette Doucet (Émile) and Denise Brady (Peter), all of Scoudouc; one son, Paul (Gisèle) of Richibuctou; one dear sister, Georgette Walford of Dieppe; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren that he loved to spent time with as he loved them so much, as well as many dear cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Pierre (2001).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm only. In lieu of flowers, in memory of Albénie, a mass or a contribution to the IWK Foundation or the War Amps would be appreciated by the family. www.frenettefuneralhome.com
