NEW GLASGOW – James “Raymond” McDonald, 76 of Granville St., New Glasgow, passed away March 18, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Eastville, Colchester County, NS, he was a son of the late James Edward and Christena (Cox) MacDonald.
Raymond worked as a manger for General Motors for a number of years. After returning to New Glasgow he worked for The Evening News.
He is survived by a son Jeff (Rayna) McDonald, Calgary; daughters Debbie (Joe) Boudreau, Bathurst, NB; Barb (Jim) Daly, Woodstock, ON; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters Reolla (Reg) Margeson, Evelyn (Bob) Buell; brother Willard (Theresa) McDonald and his faithful companion Taz.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen, and a daughter Katherine.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Charles McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society.
