ADAIR, RUTH - Ruth V. Adair, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at the Kenneth E. Spencer’s Memorial Nursing Home on March 14, 2014 with her sister by her side, following a lengthy illness. Born in River Glade, N.B, she was a daughter of the late Ernest A. Power and Hazel E. (Carson) Power. Ruth was a graduate of Moncton High School, Success Business College and retired from Co-operators Insurance with over 37 years of service. She was a member of the River Glade United Baptist Church and of the Salvation Army Lakeview Manor Auxiliary in Riverview, N.B. Ruth is survived by her sister Patricia Henry of Sussex; sisters-in-law: Myrtle Power of Salisbury, Hannah Cain of Petitcodiac, Martha Gautreau of Vancouver, BC, Dawnella (Harland) Fraser of Sussex and Evelyn Adair of Petitcodiac; brothers-in-law: Earl (Millie) Adair of Bridgedale, Thomas (Brenda) Adair Jr. of Gibson, B.C. and Gerald (Sandra) Adair of Nauwigewauk; as well as by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Vaughan R. Adair in December, 2012; her brother George H. Power; brothers-in-law: Allison Adair, Edward Adair, Stephen Cain and Lionel Gautreau; and her sisters-in-law: Lelia Adair and Karen Adair.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Armstrong’s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac. As per Ruth’s request, there will be no visitation held. A graveside committal service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Fair Haven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. Donations to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
