Alphonse Joseph Kiefer, aged 62 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Monday, March 17th, 2014. He was born on August 16th, 1951 in Humboldt, SK and was the eldest of 8 children. Al started his schooling in St. Gregor, SK and when the family moved to Muenster, SK in 1958, he finished his schooling there. He moved to Lloydminster, SK and married Cathy Trupish on July 22nd, 1972. Al worked in construction and after moving to Humboldt, SK with Cathy, he worked for a short time with his brother Ron at Central Meats. They then moved to Moose Jaw, where he took up his love for carpentry again. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Peter Trupish; and brothers-in-law: Daniel Blechinger, Abe Vanderhooft; Lloyd Gingelle and Darrell Gingelle. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Cathy (nee Trupish); children, Joe (Tanya) and Terry-Lynn; grandchildren, Chaz and Aurora; parents, Anna and Joseph Kiefer of Humboldt, SK; brothers and sisters: Ron and Joanne Kiefer of Drake, SK, Caroline and Don Bendig of Prince Albert, SK, Margaret and Howard Green of Barnwell, AB, Sally and Norbert Teiber of Humboldt, SK, Rose and Paul Bochek of Moose Jaw, SK, Jackie and Colin Stroeder of Calgary, AB, Gerard and Marilyn Kiefer of Melfort, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Father Rick Krofchek officiating. In lieu of flowers, a trust account has been set up under Rose Bochek and Cathy Kiefer’s names for Al’s grandchildren at the TD Canada Trust, 145 Main St, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 0V9.
