Cindy Andrews

With a heavy heart, I must announce that my sister, Cindy Andrews passed away early on Friday, March 28, one day after her 68th birthday, at the Aberdeen Hospital.
My sister was not around much when I was growing up, but she was my hero. She was a mystery and a surprise letter or gift in the mail every once in a while. She was someone we visited on weekends, a few times a year and she was a rebel. When we became older, she was devoted and delighted to have my children around her. She was always willing to take them for a weekend whenever needed.
Cindy was one of a kind, and anyone who knew her would agree. She lived her life on her own terms and happily welcomed new friends into her life. She was never without at least one cat and she loved them until the end. She loved and was loved by a few special friends and she was grateful for their time and their company.
She appreciated the love and care she received in the Palliative Care Unit and on 5 South. A very special thanks to Michelle. You always made her laugh and you had time for her whenever you were in her area. The family would like to thank Dr. Gerry Farrell for looking after her so well, and all the nurses who gave her such good care every day. I know she brought a smile to more than one of your faces and you brought many to hers. She will be missed by the gift shop. How she loved to shop there!
Cindy was loved and will be sadly missed by me, her sister April Darroch (Allan), her nieces, Erika McCluskey (Troy), and Jennifer Spears, her great nephew, Jake McCluskey and her great nieces, Keira and Cassidy McCluskey.
She was predeceased by her partner of many years, Steven MacNeil and her parents, William and Neta Andrews.
I would like to thank Helen MacNeil for being such a special and helpful friend. We will never forget your unending devotion. Cindy had a soft spot for your Felicia and they brightened each others’ days.
Her remains are resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Monday, March 31, from 6-8 p.m.
Family flowers only. Following this cremation will take place. There will be no funeral by family request and there will be a private interment.
