The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, of Ruby Florence Ford (nee Wright) of Mount Pleasant, P.E.I., aged 84 years. Ruby was born on June 6, 1924, in Woodstock, P.E.I., to her late parents Ira and Nina (nee Shaw) Wright. Beloved wife of the late Earl Ford and loving mother of Alice (Bill) Simmons of Scarborough, Ont., Keith (Vicky) of Charlottetown, Clarence (Marlene) of Mount Pleasant, Joyce (Keith) Phillips of Northam, Nina (Eric) Phillips of Arlington, Eric (Kim) of Mount Pleasant, Nancy (Kevin) Stewart of Stratford and Nicole Ford (Jamie) of Miminegash. Also lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Helen Ford of Mount Pleasant , her 29 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Survived by her sisters and brothers: Bessie (Wilfred ) Campbell of Mount Pleasant, Sadie Walfield of Ellerslie, Ivy (Florence) Wright of Linkletter, Wilfred Wright of the Blue Shank Road and George Wright of Toronto, Ont. Besides her husband and her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her sons, Ray, Steven and Johnny, her daughter, Phyllis Ford, her grandchildren, Richard and Judy Broome, Randy Ford and Scott Phillips, her brothers, Norman, Johnny, Ray Wright and her sister, Alice Trowsdale. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Thursday, Dec. 18th , 2008, for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Interment to take place in Victoria West People's Cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Ruby's memory to Victoria West People's Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.
