ZANGER – Joyce Irene - After many years fighting the battle against cancer, our mother’s struggles finally ended on March 21, 2014. Joyce Irene Zanger was born on July 17, 1936 in Arcola, Saskatchewan to Harvey and Hazel Browatzke. She spent her early years living on the farm. Joyce attended school in Warmley where she developed a love of reading and writing. She married John Zanger on June 23, 1952, leaving the farm and relocating to Frobisher, Saskatchewan. Their life together began with the arrival of the first of six children. After 16 years the family moved to Estevan and John’s oilfield work lead them to many different points in Saskatchewan, Alberta and one year in Africa. Retirement in 1990 saw them settle in Swift Current, buying an acreage, raising some cattle and enjoying the country life. Joyce will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband John of 62 years, her daughter Irene, sons Philip (Dianna), Gordon (Phyllis), Gerald (Christine), Raymond (Karen) and Allen (Penny). Grandmother to Crystal, Aaron, Ryan, Misty, Reeva, Ken, Kevin, Kelly, Leanne, Kristie, Shawn, Jessica, Jon, Zac and Melissa. Joyce also has many Great-Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by her brother Jim and Sister Doreen. Mom was predeceased by her sister Helen, sister-in-law Sharon, son-in-law Ken, and Grandson Michael. A Celebration of Joyce's Life was held on Saturday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastside Church of God, Swift Current, Saskatchewan. The internment to be held in Frobisher, Saskatchewan on April 26.
