REID: Alice Maida aged 92 years of Val Marie, SK passed away on Thursday March 27, 2014 in Ponteix, SK. A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from the First United Church at 2:00 pm with Reverend Sharon Ferguson-Hood officiating. The interment service will take place in Mount Pleasant Burial Park at a later date. The organist was Patti McCleary and the eulogy was read by Les Babcock. The urn bearer was Bryton Reid and honorary urn bearers were all who shared in Alice's life. Alice is survived by her son Jerry; grandchildren Allan, Daryle, Garry, and Jade; nieces and nephews, Larry and Sherry Grant, Lynn and Sherry Grant, Dean and Danielle Grant, Judy and Wayne Martin, Alita Karemnordwi, Karen Barabe, Shirley Hatlilid, Marlene Sincines, and Les Babcock; and great grandchildren Bryton and Lacey Reid, and Daylon Vangen. She is predeceased by her husband Norman; her parents; and brothers and sisters. Alice enjoyed curling, dancing, horses, ranching and people in general. For many years Alice made wedding cakes in the Val Marie district for free as her contribution to the wedding.
